CABARETE, Dominican Republic – September 18, 2025
Day 2 of Master of the Ocean 2025 brought glassy morning conditions with clean waves of one to three feet, setting the stage for a full day of competition across multiple disciplines.
The action opened with Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Teams, where young talent Blu Bougant stunned spectators with his fluid cutbacks and bottom turns, riding with confidence well beyond his years. His performance set the tone for the day. As the tide rose for the Surf Teams, the shifting lineup tested the athletes, but local standout Nicolás de la Cruz and Bo Bougant responded with wave after wave of stylish, powerful maneuvers that thrilled the crowd.
By late morning, Wingfoil athletes took to the water in light winds of 9 to 12 knots, embodying the sport’s motto — fly high and surf. Maxime L’Huillier of Mexico’s Dream Team and Hawaiian rider Makani Andrews from Kite Beach Center delivered standout performances, blending foil precision with wave-riding artistry that captivated onlookers.
After a midday pause, attention turned to Kitesurfing, where Cabarete’s homegrown legends reminded everyone why the town remains a cradle of world-class talent. Emanuel Vásquez, José Luis Ciriaco, and Joselito del Rosario powered through their heats, combining experience, strength, and creativity to delight fans lining the shore.
As the afternoon progressed, rising winds and dropping tide set the stage for exhilarating Windsurfing Team and Overall heats. The competition area lit up with freestyle tricks, wave riding, and sprays of water as Samuel Pérez-Hults, Franklin Mieses, and the world-renowned “Action Man” Brian Talma of Barbados put on an electrifying display of skill and passion.
Closing out the day, Aline Adisaka showcased her mastery in the SUP Teams for the Dream Team, combining flawless technique and fluid motion on every wave to prove once again she is in a league of her own.
From SUP and Surf in the morning, to Wingfoil, Kite, and Windsurf in the afternoon, Day 2 offered a versatile and unforgettable showcase of talent, proving why Master of the Ocean continues to stand as the world’s premier watersports decathlon.
